New Vegan Recipes – Guest Recipe Post

Today I have a very special guest post by a wonderful blogger I met in Las Vegas at BlogWorldExpo 2009. This is from Karen Bell, who has a blog called ktotheb.com and her video blogs are very spiritual, inspirational and all around awesome. She’s been traveling lately from Canada to Boston for her newest video blog (The Power of Meditation) so keep an eye on her site!

Here is the recipe she has provided us this time around:

Vegan No-Nut Butter Cookies by KB

1/2 cup vegan margarine
1/2 cup tahini
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp egg replacer mixed 2/ 4 tbsp water
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour

Mix margarine and tahini together with a fork. Add sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix until combined, then add egg replacer and vanilla. Stir in the flour last.

Shape dough into 1″ balls and place 2″ apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10 – 12 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Eat these cookies within a day or two as they tend to get stale quickly!!

In The Recent Light of the Top ‘Sexiest Vegetarian Of The Year’ awards going to actor Olivia Wilde and NBC’s The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper, I thought it would be fitting to link to this post showing the Top Ten Movies that have been known to make people become vegetarians.

Olivia Wilde, is Starring in the new TRON movie – oh yeah. If you don’t know what that is or means, back before anyone did anything, TRON came out, we saw it as little kids on a friggin’ RCA LaserDisc -> huge goldish discs that looked like they belonged on Voyager, that had to be flipped over half way through.

TRON was super ground breaking, Jeff Bridges, THE DUDE, was the main ‘programmer’ in TRON who gets sucked inside the computer and must ‘fight’ his way out to find his ‘user’. Many programs, or PEOPLE in the movie, were ‘deletable’, his character was different. Very incredibly done for its time. I still love the ‘Light Cycles’ or ‘Light Bikes’.

Now, this is not propaganda, but more like, “Awwww the pig in ‘Babe’ is super cute, no more pork!”

Stop simply retweeting mashable! They’re a fine, quality news source, but lets add some quality commentary like in a blog post and then refer back to it, that way you tweet your own version and give some opinion.
