Digital Media Moves Quicker Than Twitter01 Nov

Growing With the Digital Media Age

With technology and digital media and marketing moving at record speeds, think about how your company can stay ahead of competitors.

up stairs chart Digital Media Moves Quicker Than Twitter

The number of apps downloaded will leap from 7 billion this year to nearly 50 billion next year.

Let that sink in for a bit – not that that’s all too surprising, the way digital media is moving. Babies born today play with iPads and iPhones, and will probably learn more about digital tools and products before they’re five years old just by playing with them while their parents are busy – ever see the YouTube video of the baby trying to make images bigger on a magazine because she was used to playing with an iPad? It’s already happening.

Therefore, companies need to be ahead of the game. That baby? And hundreds of other babies like that baby? They’re your future consumers. And one other thing – at the rate technology is moving, that generation of babies is going to grow up knowing technology, get used to things moving quickly and all the new apps, and they’ll get impatient when companies don’t have an app out there that makes their lives easier.

Now, back to the earlier stat: The number of apps downloaded will leap from 7 billion this year to nearly 50 billion next year.

That stat was taken from a 2010 study by GetJar, the world’s second largest app store, which also said that the market for mobile device software programs should rocket to 17.5 billion dollars (US) within three years.

Apps are where it’s at. Think about it: How often are you at home, but rather than go to your desktop computer or laptop, you’ll use your phone to look something up or use an app to order food/pay your bills/tweet what you’re doing? It’s probably often enough that really makes this stat resonate. In addition, the tablet’s usage is only increasing, not decreasing, which means laptops may soon become a thing of the past. Know what that means? That’s right – laptops don’t use apps, but tablets do.

Where is Digital Media Going?

Therefore, if you’re thinking of how your company can progress and where it can go from here, the answer is, keep moving. The key with digital media is it’s constantly moving and changing – what apps can your company provide to stay ahead of the curve, and help your customers stay ahead of the curve, too? What apps can you create to help your customers in general? What can make their lives more convenient while using your products? Thinking about how the masses use digital media is key to moving ahead in this market.

Osama Bin Laden’s Compound – Yelp Style Reviews on Google Maps01 May

I know this is very serious and here are some of my feelings which I’ve posted on Facebook, but the reviews on Google Maps are too much to not repost here. comments welcome.

“May 1st 2011 – Aaron Kronis:

Likes how Obama actually mentioned peace and that Pakistan was involved in a joint operation, how we are not at war with Islam and that this man had been responsible for mass murder of Muslims and Americans…I guess he didn’t really explain who he was but, he made it seem like in some way an act of peace not war.

We’re on high alert peoples.

I don’t feel comfortable celebrating someone’s death, but I hope this puts some of the 9/11 stuff to rest. Sucks pretty bad for the family members of over 2000 people in NYC who went through hell that day.”

-Thanks…

Now for some lighter stuff…

Why Reality Shows Do So Well!07 Apr

Because people are so stupid, they do things that even writers can’t comprehend would be possible, until someone goes and does this on television.

There are many examples…. start with Canadian politics.

This IDIOT in toronto who is only a young 32 years of age, expected to be MAYOR of Toronto, until he got called out on a huge sex scandal the week before the elections.

So my point is that some people just can’t handle the public eye and their reality or ‘what they think is reality and how they are portrayed’ can be very skewed once they get some attention.

Just LOOK at the people from that stupid Jon & Kate + 8 show.

unreal. the guy’s a super douchebag who now gets ‘action’ because he’s ‘famous’. Kate is on the dancing with the stars show…so now she’s in the belief that she’s a star, when the reason she’s really on the show: so people can make fun of her and TUNE in for ratings. anyone who watched her stupid show will want to see how she does on this show.

I’ve never watched either, although i would have liked to see what Woz did on that show maybe for a few minutes as he’s an interesting person, but DANCING? no thanks.

Also I’m glad to say I never watched any American Idol (or Canadian Idol) episodes, however I did Tivo last tuesday’s as Paul McCartney was on it and i’ve never seen the ever charming ‘ellen degeneres’ who is Hillarious on this show yet. I think we’re all waiting for Ryan Seacrest to follow Ricky Martin’s lead (maybe the two of them should be paired up on Dancing with the Stars) in his famous words ‘Seacrest Out’ which has another meaning now!
