Just announced today, via email from Google, you can now use an android app to control your Google TV with your Android phone.
One thing this implies is that people will be soon using Voice Search to find TV Programs and Sporting Events… by yelling at their phones! Again, I can’t wait!
SWEET.
So long phone and tv companies… we just need whitespaces broadband internet now and we’re sailin’!
So we all have been watching and learning and growing with Google’s Webmaster Tools and figuring out all of this great SEO work, listening to Google’s complaints and making it happen.
Now you can’t submit a sitemap to Google without logging in first (maybe this is a good thing that prevents spamming it?)
But with Bing you can and it is encouraged. Google doesn’t force you to install Chrome just to use webmaster tools. I installed Chrome because its faster lately anyways.
Now, BING has Microsoft spending TONS getting in front of everyone.
So WTF is up with this weak as$@# sitemap stuff? like, make me a friggin’ form please? Oh No, we have to cut and paste and type in and then I’m not even sure if I spelled it right…’cuz it just says thank you.
Bing spends $$$$ on advertising...can't even tell if your sitemap uploads properly.
How about “THANKS for submitting ‘blah.xml’ with the full URL? Come on Microsoft. Stop living up to your name. Small and squishy.
You have to look at the URL to double check that you spelled the submission correctly!
C’mon microsoft! Make stuff for the pros not just the masses.. if you want some credibility without forcing us to use your shit.
SILVERLIGHT?
So I cave and click install for Macintosh. NOPE. Didn’t work on Chrome either. I’m sure I can submit to them but who cares right now, I have other more important things to do pertaining to my Website results in Google.
Geez. Really? so to login to Bing I need…yeah right. Who’s the Bing Evangelist? Please get one.
1. The new iPhone 4 does NOT have 4G nor does it come close to the new Android EVO phone that I just got and I’m stoked about it.
Here’s the first photo I ever took while demonstrating the dual video camera capabilities of the EVO while showing Rand from SEOmoz the new 4G kick ass device that runs Android better than anything ever.
2. I am VERY LUCKY, (well i already knew this). I will be spending some time in Hawaii for the Woot! conference because I was the winner of their Search and Social Woot! VIP Giveaway where the winner gets a free full Woot! conference pass, roundtrip airfare, and accommodations during Woot!.
There are two conferences if you want to learn about Social and Search from the Experts in workshops not just panels. There’s also teambuilding exercises (its good to send your staff together where possible.)
3. If you beat @mattcutts at pool, you don’t get to come back to SMX. This is an unfortunate consequence of beating Mr. Matt Cutts (google’s head of spam team and also the person you get your photo with the first time you go to SMX Advanced and show all your SEO friends afterward)
You see our good friend @hellojoenguyen did just that last year and the rule was, he’s not allowed back the following year.
So here is the last shot before my chance to beat mr cutts and not be allowed back….
I ‘over cut’ the eight ball and it didn’t drop in the pocket. Then I never shot again as Chris & Matt won on the next turn. @googleandblog, we almost had it! Next year, I guess!
4. Don’t Piss Off Sugar Rae
5. Although I have a rather unique name ‘KRONiS’ it is still possible to be confused with @madhat AKA Aaron Chronister…
6. Cyclops (a dive-ish bar in Seattle) is more fun with a Flashmob from the Bing Party
(insert photo of CYCLOPS with Mike Mike and Aaron) This is the reason for the Eye at the top.
7. When you receive a call from the airline (Virgin America) about the bag you left on the plane, and the girl asks you where you are, make sure that they tell you about their website so you can try to sell them SEO. The next logical thing to do is hang up the phone and then explain that phone call to Bruce Clay.
8. There are a lot of Canadians that would be excellent employees if only they were allowed in the country to work.
So there was a bet that Evan Fishkin made with Matt Cutt’s at the Site Review panel…. ‘whether or not someone would be dumb enough to submit a spammy site to the review’. of course that happened so Matt Shaved evans ‘big hair’ at pubcon.
It was pretty funny. during the process matt was answering SEO questions and then shaved more heads!
I video’d it and there are some photos below. matt gave us some SEO info while shaving.
